The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each local workforce development board to develop and submit, in partnership with the local chief elected official, a comprehensive four-year plan on the current and projected needs of the workforce system to the State. The law emphasizes the importance of collaboration and transparency in the development and submission of the plan. The WIOA four-year plan will be effective July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2020. Through the implementation of the 2016-20 WIOA Local Plan the area will have a business-led, market-responsive, results-oriented, and integrated workforce development system. In order to continue successfully serving the community, the South Florida Workforce Investment Board dba CareerSource South Florida would like the public’s feedback and participation in the creation and review of the four-year plan.
