The CareerSource South Florida assists youth and young adults between the ages of 14-21 to continue their education and training in order to advance their skills and pursue the best jobs possible. In-School and Out-Of-School programs are coordinated youth program partners. Some of the services offered through our Youth Programs include: comprehensive assessment and career guidance / planning, leadership development opportunities, life skills, work readiness training, work experience and internships.

Youth & Young Adult Programs:

Our Youth & Young Adult Programs include CareerSource South Florida Summer Youth Employment Program and the Ready to Work Employment Program. Our Summer Youth Employment Program will  assist youth between the ages of 14-17 gain an un-derstanding about the workplace and appropriate employment skills by linking them to employers for work experience and career advice. Eligible youth residing in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties will earn $9.00 an hour for 140 hours to include 20 hours of Work Readiness Skills Training. The Ready to Work Employment Program will provide job opportunities to eligible young adults ages 18-27 residing in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties, to earn up to $10 an hour for a maximum of 360 hours plus one week of work readiness skills training click here.

In-School Youth Program:

Our In-School Youth Program (ISY) offers young adults who are enrolled in school and are between the ages of 14 and 21, a wide variety of academic and employment related services. The In-School Youth Program provides participating students with services that include, but are not limited to: counseling, academic tutoring, leadership development activities, school year internships, paid summer work experience, and many other resources that remedy the factors that put them at risk. Out-of-School Programs:

Our Out-of-School Youth Program (OSY) assists young adults between the ages of 16 to 21, who have either dropped out of school or have graduated from high school, but are in need of employment, training to prepare for the workplace, or are exploring career paths. Job Corps

Job Corps is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive residential and non-residential education and career training program for young adults ages 16 through 24. Job Corps provides career services for job placement upon completion of the program. Visit their website for more information.
