The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each local workforce development board to develop and submit, in partnership with the local chief elected official, a comprehensive four-year plan on the current and projected needs of the workforce system to the State of Florida.
The law emphasizes the importance of collaboration and transparency in the development and submission of the plan. The WIOA local four-year plan is effective from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2024.
Through the implementation of the 2020-2024 WIOA Local Plan, Workforce Development Area 23 will have a business-led, market-responsive, integrated and results-oriented workforce development system.
In order to continue successfully serving the community, the South Florida Workforce Investment Board dba CareerSource South Florida would like the public’s feedback and participation in the creation and review of the plan. The official comment period is from September 26, 2022 through October 11, 2022.
