Education and Industry Consortium:

In compliance with Senate Bill 240, the South Florida Workforce Investment Board, d/b/a CareerSource South Florida created the Education and Industry Consortium. The Consortium is composed of representatives of educational entities and local businesses within Miami-Dade County. The Education and Industry Consortium is an independent advisory group to the local board.

Focus:

The focus of this committee is to provide community-based information related to educational programs and industry needs to assist the South Florida Workforce Investment Board, d/b/a CareerSource South Florida in making decisions on programs, services, and partnerships in the service delivery area

Objectives:

• Provide a brief summary analysis of the local labor market based on industry representative needs and education offerings.

• Provide information on priority industry sectors and occupations for the local area.

• Provide information on the status of existing talent pipelines for in-demand occupations and the need to expand or leverage

existing and/or new resources
